Who is Satyanshu Singh?

A National Award-winning filmmaker, writer, and professor of cinema. After completing MBBS course from Armed Forces Medical College (Pune), Satyanshu started his professional journey in the film industry by writing poems for Vikramaditya Motwane’s ‘Udaan’. He wrote lyrics for ‘Sulemani Keeda’ and ‘Ferrari Ki Sawaari’. His directorial debut, a Kashmiri short film ‘Tamaash’, won numerous awards around the world including a National Award. Satyanshu’s first feature that he wrote and directed, ‘Chintu Ka Birthday’, has received wide acclaim.

Satyanshu has been teaching in Mass Media courses at colleges affiliated to Mumbai University for nine years. He designed and conducted screenwriting courses at Anupam Kher’s ‘Actor Prepares’ for two years. In 2016, Satyanshu created AIB First Draft, an intensive six-month writers’ residency program. He also mentored the writing of ‘Gormint’, a comedy show being produced for Amazon Prime. Satyanshu has co-authored a textbook on screenwriting that is ready to be published. He conducts screenwriting and film appreciation workshops in several cities.

No money through these lectures comes to Satyanshu or any of the guest speakers.
