“Non-Fiction Storytelling”: In Conversation with Sabiha Sumar, Dylan Mohan Gray, and Hardik Mehta
Ever since the invention of the motion picture camera, non-fiction films or documentaries have told important stories on screen. How can we approach non-fiction filmmaking? Is there a craft to it as well? What can documentary filmmaking teach us about storytelling, understanding characters, exploring themes? In this interactive session, Satyanshu Singh will chat with Sabiha Sumar (Pakistani filmmaker known for her independent documentaries and the feature “Khamosh Paani”), Dylan Mohan Gray (“Fire in the Blood”), and Hardik Mehta whose National Award-winning short documentary “Amdavad Ma Famous” will also be screened in this session.
